Ages 13 and above.
Join us for an exciting hands-on Career Exploration Trip as we dive into the world of Animal Science! This immersive experience will take us to two unique locations where animals, science, and nature come together. Our first stop is Hawthorne Animal Hospital, where we’ll get an insider’s look at the daily operations of a veterinary clinic. Students will tour the facility, learn about veterinary tools and technology, and hear directly from an on-site veterinarian about what it takes to care for animals and pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Next, we’ll head outdoors to the Watershed Nature Center to explore the rich biodiversity of three natural habitats: prairie, forest, and wetland. Through guided exploration and observation, students will gain a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation, animal behavior in natural environments, and how ecosystems support a variety of species.
Whether you're curious about becoming a vet, working with animals in the wild, or simply love nature, this trip is a great way to explore the possibilities within Animal Science!
Register by July 8. Space is limited
4-H parents are welcome to attend, however, space may be limited at Hawthorne Animal Hospital.
