2026 Southwestern Illinois Commercial Tree Fruit School

For current research-based information on growing tree fruits, attend the 2026 Commercial Tree Fruit School. This year's program features a wide range of topics to help you meet the challenges of commercial fruit production in Southwestern Illinois. Industry representatives will also be on hand to talk about their latest products and services.

Current trends in insect and disease management and a variety of other production-related topics will be discussed. 
  • Mohammad Babadoost with University of Illinois discussing peach and apple diseases
  • Kacie Athey with University of Illinois covering integrated pest management in tree fruits
  • Trent Ford with University of Illinois, discussing the weather hazard forecasting project


This year's school will take place on February 12, 2025, at the Barefoot Restaurant in Hardin (106 S. Water St, Hardin, IL 62047).
There will be no afternoon presentations; Tree Fruit School will conclude after lunch. Registration will begin at 7:45 am. The program begins at 8:30 am and runs until 1:30 pm.

Registration included one copy of the Midwest Fruit Pest Management Guide. 

Advanced registration by February 4 is $35 per person, lunch included 
Registration at the door is $50 per person, lunch included.
