The 2025 NLRS Conference will provide an overview of Illinois’ ongoing efforts to reduce nutrient losses and improve water quality. This year’s agenda features presentations on:
- Statewide nutrient load trends and monitoring tools from the U.S. Geological Survey
- Progress Update on NLRS Data Portal and new data visualization
- Scientific insights into nutrient budgets, flow-normalized phosphorus and nitrogen trends, and streambank erosion
- Sector-specific updates on point source, stormwater, and agricultural non-point source program engagement
- Collaborative initiatives from the Nutrient Research and Education Council, Ag Retail Survey, Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership, and Illinois Extension Watershed Outreach
This event brings together researchers, policymakers, agency staff, and stakeholders to share knowledge and strengthen Illinois’ Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided for in-person attendees thanks to sponsorship from the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Illinois Farm Bureau.
The Illinois NLRS is a statewide, collaborative effort working to reduce the amount of nutrients, particularly nitrogen and phosphorus, entering Illinois waterways. Learn more at
