2023 Registration for IL 4-H State Robotics Competition - Hydrobot

Registration is now closed for the 2023 Illinois 4-H Robotics Competition. If you have questions about the event, contact Carla Blue, blue1@illinois.edu, events coordinator. 

EVENT DATE:  May 13, 2023
LOCATION: Interstate Center located on McLean County Fairgrounds, 1106 Interstate Dr, Bloomington, IL
COMPETITION OPEN TO: any Illinois youth robotics team.
TEAM CHECK IN:
8- 9 a.m.
COMPETITION BEGINS: 9 a.m.
AWARDS: 4:30 p.m.
COMPETITION ENDS: approximately 5 p.m.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 14, 2023. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 45 teams. Note that registration is not considered complete until required forms are received at the State 4-H Office.
TEAM REGISTRATION FEE: $20 (Teams must consist of 3-10 youths and at least 1 adult volunteer leader)
      PAYMENT OPTION 1: Payment by credit card using this online registration system is preferred.
      PAYMENT OPTION 2: If applicable, local county extension office may pay for registration fees. Coaches must get a code from county staff before registering. Note that not all counties will be able to pay for robotic teams. 

REQUIRED FORMS for each team member: Emergency Medical Form, Photo/Media Release Form, and Risk Waiver Form (4-H members who have previously signed the risk form must indicate that on the risk form and turn in with other forms) 
  • DEADLINE FOR REQUIRED FORMS: April 14
  • EMAIL OR MAIL ALL TEAM MEMBERS' FORMS BY April 14 to Carla Blue, blue1@illinois.edu OR mail forms to: State 4-H Office, Robotics Competition, 801 N. Country Fair Drive, Suite E, Champaign, IL 61821. Individuals who do not have their medical form submitted by the deadline will risk being removed from the competition.

OTHER EVENT DETAILS:
  • Food at the event: Teams are allowed order food and have it delivered or teams may bring their own food.  Please have team members to pick up their area before leaving. 
  • Parking: There is plenty of free parking right by the Interstate Center.
  • Anyone who has experienced COVID-19 symptoms within the previous seven days is asked to stay home. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath.

ACCOMMODATIONS: We are happy to discuss what accommodations are possible so that all youth can safely participate in this event. Accommodation requests should be submitted to Carla Blue, blue1@illinois.edu, at least a week before the event so that arrangements can be made.

Cancellations & Refunds:  Cancellations made by April 14, 2023 will receive a full refund, minus a 5% credit card fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after April 14, 2023. All cancellations and refund requests must be received in writing to the State 4-H Office by emailing Carla Blue, blue1@illinois.edu.
